Is Card Perks really free? What's the catch?

Yes. Card Perks is genuinely free for personal use and will stay that way. We don't take affiliate kickbacks for the cards we recommend, and we don't sell your data. Our revenue comes from optional partnerships clearly marked as Sponsored and from a future B2B product for travel agents โ€” neither affects your app experience.

Do I need to give Card Perks access to my bank or credit card statements?

No. We never connect to your bank account or read your transactions. You add cards by selecting them from our catalog (e.g. "HDFC Diners Black"). All matching with offers happens locally on your device.

This is a deliberate design choice. It limits our ability to personalize, but it means your spending stays private.

How often do you update brand offers and lounge information?

Brand offers are verified weekly โ€” every Monday morning our team checks each active deal against the merchant's site and the bank's official feed. Lounge information is verified quarterly, plus an immediate update whenever a user flags a denial at the gate.

Each card profile shows its "last verified" date. If you spot stale info, hit the flag icon โ€” corrections go live within 24 hours.

Why is my favorite card not in the library?

We currently cover 214 cards across 28 banks โ€” that's roughly 92% of cards in active issuance in India. If yours isn't listed, it's likely a niche corporate or invitation-only product. Tap "Request a card" in Settings โ†’ we add ~6 cards a month based on user requests.

I got denied at a lounge that Card Perks said I'd get into. What now?

First โ€” apologies. This usually happens when a bank pauses a program without notifying us. Long-press the lounge in the app and tap "Flag denial." We update the entry within hours and add a temporary warning so other users aren't caught the same way. We also email you back with what we found.

Getting started

How do I sign up?

Download the app, enter your phone number, and verify with the OTP. That's it โ€” no email, no Aadhaar, no full name required. You can use a temporary number to try the app first.

Can I use Card Perks on the web?

Yes โ€” most of the catalog is available on this website. The app adds your favorites, push alerts for offers on those favorites, and the lounge map filtered to your cards. We're working on a more complete web app for Q4 2026.

Is there a desktop or iPad version?

The iOS app runs natively on iPad. We don't have a Mac or Windows app yet โ€” but the website is fully usable on a desktop browser if you want to do detailed card comparisons on a larger screen.

Adding & managing cards

How many cards can I add?

Up to 25 cards per account. We've found that even active rewards optimizers rarely need more than 8.

Can I add cards from outside India?

Not yet. Card Perks is currently India-only. We've been asked about Singapore and UAE โ€” both are on the long-term roadmap but won't ship in 2026.

What if my card has a special variant (Apay, Smartbuy, etc.)?

Variants of the same card share their core profile, but we maintain separate offer matchings where the variants differ. When you add a card, you'll see a "Variant" picker if applicable.

Brand offers

Why does the same offer show different rates on different cards?

Banks negotiate different terms with brands. A Taj stay might give 25% off on Amex, 15% on HDFC Diners, and only 10% on a Visa Signature โ€” even on the same booking. Card Perks shows the actual rate per card so you can pick the most rewarding one to swipe.

Why didn't an offer show up after my purchase?

Most cashback and bonus offers post in 4โ€“8 weeks per the bank's own SLAs. Some require activation โ€” we flag those with a yellow "Activate" button on the offer detail page.

Lounges & access

How does the visit-counter work?

It's manual on purpose. After a lounge visit, tap "Used" and we update your remaining quota for the quarter. We don't auto-track because we'd need access to your card statements โ€” which we don't take.

What's the difference between Priority Pass and DragonPass?

They're competing global lounge networks. Priority Pass is older and has wider international coverage; DragonPass is newer and better at Indian regional airports. The detail page for each lounge shows which programs are accepted at that specific entrance.

Privacy & data

What data does Card Perks store about me?

Your phone number, the cards you've added (model, not the number), your favorited brands and lounges, and your visit-counter taps. That's it. Read our full privacy policy โ†’

Can I delete my account?

Yes โ€” Settings โ†’ Account โ†’ Delete. We delete your data immediately and your phone number from our records within 24 hours. No retention period beyond what RBI/legal requires.

Account & settings

Can I move my account to a new phone number?

Yes โ€” Settings โ†’ Account โ†’ Change phone. You'll verify the new number via OTP and the old one is removed. Your cards, favorites, and history move over.

How do I export my data?

Settings โ†’ Privacy โ†’ Export. You'll get a JSON file with your full account data emailed to a destination of your choice within 10 minutes.

Billing

Do you offer a paid version?

Not currently. Personal use is free. If we ever add a paid tier, existing features will remain free โ€” paid would only be for additional power-user tools.
